ST GEORGE'S DAY

Hi everyone!
Today is St George's day, or The Book's Day, here in "Catalunya", so I've decided to write about one of my favourite books: "Tuesday with my old teacher" (Martes con mi viejo profesor).

This book is a real story which happened to Mitch Albom (the writer). After he ended his degree, he lost contact with his mates, friends, everyone, and with an special teacher, Morrie Schawrtz (a sociolgy teacher), with whom he had had a very close relation.
After some years, one night Mitch was watching the TV and suddenly, he saw his old teacher, and through the TV, he found out that Morrie was dying of ELA, a degenerative illness, but instead of getting depressed, through the months that he had to live, he wanted to spend all the time he was be able, with his family and friens talking and discussing about everything, and saying goodbay one by one.
From then on, Mitch decides to meet with Morrie, and every Tuesday he goes and see him, and they have their last subject in which, each week, they talk about the world, the regret, the death, the fear, the family... The subtject about the life, that makes you reflect on every topic they discuss.

If you feel like reading it I recommend you, I really like it!

  1. Hmmm.. If I ever feel like reading something to make me meditate for a while, I'll give it a try.
